Our 5,000lb Scale Kit is an excellent choice for small Grain Carts, feed wagons, etc, and it is an excellent way to rebuild your aging floor scales! This should be your first choice if you’re building your own animal platform, vet scale or similar platform scale. The kit consists of FOUR 2,500lb Single-Ended Shear Beam Load Cells, a Junction Box and an Indicator.
Stainless Steel vs. Mild Steel: The stainless steel version of this kit comes with the stainless steel, washdown OP-900 Indicator and four hermetically sealed stainless steel load cells. As a general rule, most places in the lower 48 do NOT need stainless steel load cells. Even the rainiest / wettest parts of the country are typically not wet enough for long enough. The stainless steel components are more designed for food-service installations, clean rooms, and other similar environments.
