Extreme Duty Weighbars

$1,095.00

We’ve been custom-building our own weighbars for almost 10 years now, and we’ve learned quite a bit about what makes a set of weighbars last.

First of all, this is something we have to do together. You have to tell us exactly what size bars to build so they’re not too short and don’t reach, and they’re not too long so you don’t trip over them and kill yourself when you’re walking around the chute. And, when you install this scale, you have to agree to run a little bit of conduit.

Description

We’ve been custom-building our own weighbars for almost 10 years now, and we’ve learned quite a bit about what makes a set of weighbars last.

First of all, this is something we have to do together. You have to tell us exactly what size bars to build so they’re not too short and don’t reach, and they’re not too long so you don’t trip over them and kill yourself when you’re walking around the chute. And, when you install this scale, you have to agree to run a little bit of conduit.

Built for Extreme Abuse

The fact is, with the oversize load cells and the 3/16″ gauge steel that we use, your cattle won’t break your scale. We use four 5,000lb LARGE ENVELOPE shear beam load cells (everyone else uses small envelope or a different kind altogether) and seal them inside 3″ x 4″ 3/16″ rectangular tubing. We’re so confident that this scale will hold up that we build a custom steel foot for them that you can bolt to your cement pad, so your squeeze chute doesn’t budge. Your chute can absorb the shock of a 2500 buffalo charging into a 2000 pound squeeze chute and our scale can handle it all day long. This is a 10,000 lb scale with 100% overload protection.

Rodents

If there’s an animal that’s going to destroy a livestock scale, it’s probably not a bovine. It’s far more likely to be a rodent. Rats. Raccoons, Skunks, Mice. They will chew the cables on your load cells, rip apart wires, build nests inside those hollow weighbars, etc. Not just our weighbars — our load cells taste the same as everyone else’s. We’re just honest and tell you about it before you spend $2500.00 on a set of weighbars, and we rodent-proof every set of weighbars that we build. Every bar has a 3/8″ conduit fittings on each bar, so it’s easy to hook everything up. Nobody else does this. You can attach EMT, IMC, GRC or even PVC conduit to the weighbars to keep the rodents away, and there’s no way for them to get into the bars themselves.

Ready to Order?

Our weighbars are custom built. If you’re ordering a set, we need to know:

  1. Length of each bar. Yes, they can be different sizes. If you need weighbars longer than 48″ please call us. We don’t have a box that big, and they’ll weigh too much and have to ship via motor freight. As a point of reference, a set of 48″ bars, all boxed up and ready to ship, weighs about 105lbs.
  2. We need to know what kind of feet you need. You can choose between steel bolt-down feet for permanent installations, or neoprene-coated non-slip rubber feet for temporary installations or if you move your chute around. You can order both sets of feet if you’d like — just add $50.00.
